Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences

Medical laboratory scientists play an important role in the healthcare system, providing diagnostic services to determine appropriate treatment options for patients. The MLS program at ¥ prepares graduates to service all departments of a clinical laboratory.

Our students have full access to labs and facilities, working with their peers and gaining hands-on experience analyzing specimens. The program offers outstanding community support, experience during clinical rotation, above-national-average certification scores and flexible applicant entry points. Graduates may further their education to become specialists in Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Hematology, Clinical Chemistry or Blood Bank.

Medical Laboratory Sciences students place eighth in national Cell Bowl competition

¥ MLS students competed in Cell Bowl 2023, a national contest of blood cell identification using CellAtlas. They won the Second Chance Showdown and ranked eighth overall.
