President

Ahmet Su

Ahmet Su is a doctoral candidate in Higher Education at the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education (LHAE). He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language Teaching, a master’s in Educational Sciences, and a PhD in Educational Administration and Supervision. He contributed to the inception of the Research in Educational Administration and Leadership (REAL) journal, initially as an Editorial Assistant and later as an Associate Editor. Most recently, he served as the Research and Knowledge Dissemination Coordinator at the Centre for the Study of Canadian and International Higher Education (CIHE) at OISE. His advisory work extends to international engagements, such as the advisory board of Khazar University’s Research Center for International and Global Higher Education. His research interests include higher education policy, cross-cultural and comparative studies, educational leadership, and the research engagement of faculty members.

Carolyn Oei

Carolyn Oei is a PhD student in the Adult Education and Community Development program (Collaborative Specialization in Environmental Studies) in the department of Leadership Higher and Adult Education. She advocates for participation and community engagement for social change and focuses her work on the nexus points of community development, participatory culture, government relations and environmental justice. Since January 2025, Carolyn has been a volunteer tutor with the Adult Literacy Services department at Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood and Community Health Centre, a member of the West TO Literacy Collaborative. Carolyn is an artist and educator with a professional background in law, public relations and corporate communications, and earned her Master of Education (English) degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Vice President Finance

Matida Daffeh

Matida Daffeh is a first-year PhD student in the Department of Social Justice Education at the Â¥·ïÌìÌà (OISE), University of Toronto. She is the co-founder of The Girls’ Agenda (TGA), a young feminist grassroots movement dedicated to eliminating female genital mutilation (FGM) and other practices that undermine the rights and well-being of women and girls in The Gambia and within the Senegambian subregion.

Matida’s research explores the intersections of disability (particularly deafness), race, gender, and immigration. She is deeply passionate about sexual and reproductive health rights for women and girls and gender justice.

Vice President Internal & Communications

Yuou Sheng

Yuou Sheng is a PhD student in Language & Literacies Education at OISE. Her research explores second language speech, with a focus on phonetics, phonology, bilingualism, and the role of orthographic input in language acquisition. As VP Internal & Communications, Yuou brings experience as a research assistant on multiple multilingual and AI-enhanced language learning projects, as well as past roles in academic mentorship, student governance, and conference organization. She is dedicated to fostering inclusive communication, building meaningful student engagement, and supporting graduate life at OISE. With a background in linguistics and prior experience mentoring international students and coordinating social media and academic events, Yuou is passionate about making research and community more accessible to all.

Vice President Events

Meilin Ma

Meilin Ma is a Master of Education (MEd) student in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development at OISE. She has worked as a research assistant at both the University of Toronto and Toronto Metropolitan University. Prior to her academic journey in Canada, Meilin worked as a television journalist and program director at China Central Television (CCTV) in Beijing. She has held leadership and volunteer roles in a variety of nonprofit organizations, including mental health associations, community centers, senior groups, elementary and high schools, United Way, Sound Canada, and more. As Vice President of Events, Meilin is dedicated to curating programs that foster connection, celebration, and mutual support among OISE students. She hopes to make every event not just an activity, but a warm and welcoming space where students feel seen, supported, and part of a caring community.
