Mike Farley
Biography
Mike Farley has been a Sessional Lecturer in the Master of Teaching Program at OISE since 2021. He instructs the Curriculum and Teaching in Geography courses for both the Intermediate/Senior and Junior/Intermediate levels. Mike is also a middle and high school Geography teacher with over 20 years of experience in the Toronto District School Board and currently at University of Toronto Schools. In addition, he is a Senior Lecturer in the Master of Education Program at Antioch University, where he instructs the Animal Protection and Capstone graduate courses. In 2014, the Royal Canadian Geographical Society presented Mike with the Gilles Gagnier Medal for Innovation in Geographic Education, the highest honour for K-12 Geography teaching in Canada. Mike was awarded the TeachKind Canadian Teacher of the Year in 2022 for his work focusing on incorporating animal protection into education.
