Overview

Andrew Schlapp joined ¥ in 2008 as the Director of Government Relations, in 2018 he was promoted to the Chief of Staff. Schlapp uses his leadership skills in developing strategies to fulfill the University’s mission statement, implementing initiatives across university divisions, collaboratively working with community leaders, businesses and stakeholders for the betterment of the region. In 2020 he was promoted to his current position as the Executive Director of Government Relations & Strategy, he also serves as Director of NIAR Business Development, Executive Director of the WSU Board of Trustees and ¥ Innovation Alliance and Operations.

Schlapp graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's in business administration and received a master's in public administration from ¥.

Mr. Schlapp is currently a member of the Governor's military council and on the executive board of the Sedgwick County developmental disability organization.

Andy and his wife, Jane, have three children.
