Biography

Carolyn Oei is a 2nd-year PhD student in the Adult Education and Community Development program (Collaborative Specialization in Environmental Studies), LHAE. Carolyn has been published in Mekong Review, Jom and Human Rights Education Review (publication forthcoming). Her most recent co-authored book, “The Good Gang: Stories from Tak Takut Kids Club”, was launched in November 2025. Notable conference presentations include Congress 2025 (CASAE) in Toronto, ON; International Association for Human Rights Education in London, UK; and Canadian Council for Southeast Asian Studies in Victoria, BC. Carolyn is looking forward to fostering collaborative relationships through the 2026 GSRC and encourages colleagues to participate in ways that build on their strengths.
